The 2011 Annual WordAlone Convention will be held in conjunction with the Augustana District Convention in Hutchinson, MN, on April 29th and 30th.The new Lutheran landscape has so filled our calendars with conventions and conferences that WordAlone has decided we can serve better by partnering with another gathering for our annual event. This year we are delighted to be working with Augustana District which is a non-geographical district of Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC). WordAlone's contribution to the joint event is to put on a Worship and Education Festival on Friday, April 29th. The Augustana District portion of the event will start Saturday morning April 30th and continue through that day. Our WordAlone Ministries annual business meeting will on Saturday afternoon, April 30th as part of that schedule.
ReClaim Resources will be joining forces with Sola Publishing to put on this Worship and Education Festival. The festival is being offered to assist Lutheran congregations looking for ways to establish and revitalize their worship and educational ministries by better anchoring them in the Word of God.It is designed specifically for all the people that support these ministries in local congregations. This includes worship committee members, worship leaders, musicians, education committee members, teachers, confirmation leaders, men's and women's group leaders, adult bible study leaders and anyone who desires renewal and strengthening of these ministries within their congregations.
The festival will feature three complete workshops: 1. teaching the Bible, 2. teaching Luther's Small Catechism, 3. Lutheran worship and hymns. Each workshop will include practical presentations offered in understandable terms for laity. Each workshop will include demonstration classes using actual ReClaim and Sola materials that are included at no additional cost in the Festival Resource Kit.The Festival schedule is designed to enable each participant to attend all three workshops.
The Augustana District (www.augustanadistrict.org) will be handling registration. The registration fee for the Festival is $35.00, with group rates available for congregations with three or more members attending. More information about travel and lodging accommodations will be coming soon. We urge you to please consider attending this important event as congregations on the new Lutheran landscape roll up their sleeves to craft ministries centered in the Bible and informed by the Lutheran Confessions. Let's work together to do a better job of teaching the faith to future generations of Lutherans and worshiping our Lord Jesus, God's Word alone.
